Inherited trust
Since we were born, usually religion is a belief that is passed down from parents to their children.
Muslim parents, Muslim children,
Catholic parents, catholic children,
Buddha’s parents, Buddha’s children, and so on.
As children we mostly follow the beliefs of our parents without wondering whether the beliefs are in accordance with what we want. Then also parents will be very opposed if we choose a belief other than the one they hold.
The purpose of life?
Have we ever wondered,
What is the purpose of this life?
Is the religion that we are born with the real truth?
If you are a follower of a religion, have you ever read the holy book of the religion we believe in to the end? For example, adherents of Islam have the holy book of the Koran, Christian/Protestant Bible, Buddhism, the holy book of the Tripitaka, Hinduism, the Vedas.
Or do we only hear from the words of people, including religious leaders?
If you have questions about various issues, are they answered with arguments and evidence?
Are you satisfied and accept the answer?
Are the answers always the same or are they different from each other?
Would your judgment be objective about a religion? And don’t look at the behavior of people who are equated with the religion they embrace (religious stigmatization)?
Critical?
Suppose there is a salesperson who offers you an investment and promises a return on investment many times over in a short time, will you immediately believe it? Of course not, we will be very careful and cross check, especially when it comes to large amounts.
Have you ever applied a critical attitude as well as investing with the religion we embrace?
Belief is our belief about something abstract, unlike mathematics, if 2 + 2 then the result is 4.
If you believe, no one can force you to change even by arguing.
After the debate is over and no one agrees, the final proof is in the grave.
Your belief is yours.
The question is: Have you ever been critical?
