Is it important to pursue education? College or not?
For almost 20 years of our lives as humans we have spent a lot of studying in school, we learn what we need to know about everything, the things we have learned, will be a provision to face the world and maintain our survival.
For most humans, to survive, they will look for work and earn wages, wages that can be used to meet their needs as humans.
And for some, who are destined to get facilities from birth, they don’t have to bother trying from scratch, because their parents have provided everything they need.
There are various kinds of jobs in this world, along with the laws of economics, regarding demand and markets, the more unique a person’s skill or ability, the greater the income he can achieve. For example, a doctor, because not everyone can become a doctor, the higher the abilities possessed by doctors, the more expensive the price of the work they do, for example, a cardiologist.
We all know that Bill Gates, who was once listed as the richest person in the world, never graduated from college, even though he employed smart people who graduated from well-known universities in his company at Microsoft.
Although education is important to obtain. but education is not something that is absolute in determining one’s success.
In the world of work, usually our level of education determines the level of wages we will receive. The higher our education, the greater the possibility of the level of wages we will receive.
With a record that our high education is supported by our values and skills, because it is useless to have an undergraduate degree but with a GPA of 1.0 which shows a negative side, namely the lack of ability of the owner of that value, although this is not necessarily 100% true.
The author often reads about the number of our undergraduate graduates who are still unemployed, this is due to various factors including: there is a high gap between the skills of college graduates and what is needed by the labor market.
The author also often sees various people wasting the education they are taking due to various reasons, such as the lack of seriousness of students even though they only have to finish their thesis (for students) or because what often happens is a matter of romance.
As we know, adolescence is puberty for every human being and sometimes they meet someone they love, and indeed love is blind.
There are even students who do not continue their education such as high school because of economic or family problems.
It is unimaginable how hard the struggle for life is for workers without a high school diploma.
But once again the author says: education is not something absolute in determining one’s success.
And all decisions taken are the responsibility of each individual, here the author does not intend to judge anyone.
Finally, if you have the opportunity to study, seek knowledge as high as possible. Because by having knowledge, knowledge that will help you for the rest of your life.
